Dear Daughter

Dear daughter,

Talent, Humanity, Energy, Art...hope you always keep all your letters alive.

Hope your eyes are always wide open, not missing a scene, spotting injustice, flooding when needed, smiling in glee.

Hope you let your hair be, all wavy and frizzy, rebellious and free. Not forcing it take unnatural shapes, just wash it and comb it, caress it (not much😍), and let it get tangled in daylight and nights.

Hope your huge hands keep stroking your oldies and new, grabbing pens and keys to create rhythms, floating in the air as you move, stretching to hold friendly fingers and never needing to stop slaps. They were molded to catch love, feel love, spread love.

Hope your spine like a tall elm will always be erect, solid, and sane, ready to resist all winds, from east or west, rest in the sun and swing in the breeze.

Hope your elbows help you rise when you fall, lean relaxed as you share a meal, and kiss other elbows when your lips cannot kiss.

Hope your legs, so long since small, keep on being your pillars to stand up in pride when defending your place, and respond to all musics with twists and turns and hope they NEVER BREAK!

Hope your whole body is always complete and healthy and glad
to be what it is.

Love

Mum
